Cogeneration and heating network in the Rose des Vents neighborhood

A modern network integrated into the urban fabric

Challenge

The Rose des Vents heating network was built at the end of the 1970s in response to development of the neighborhood. Le Logement Français and the City of Aulnay-sous-Bois wanted to enhance residents' comfort and living environment. The network consists of a thermal production plant and buried piping providing hot water and heating for all the neighborhood's social housing and buildings.

In early 2000, the City decided to upgrade the network with the aim of making the infrastructure as safe as possible and improving energy conservation in an overall approach of sustainable development and cost control. Upgrading included the introduction of cogeneration, improved efficiency and safety, reduced pollution, energy savings, and blending the architecture into the city's renovation program. The cogeneration unit was commissioned on February 1, 2004.
