Resonor: the Lille heating network

From coal to cogeneration

The Dalkia solution

Dual-energy cogeneration plant

A gas turbine cogeneration plant with a capacity of 45 MW of electrical power and 45 MW of thermal power was completed in 2001.

The plant simultaneously generates heat for the heating network and electricity, which is sold to the French utility EDF. The plant is equipped with a gas boiler plant and coal boiler, with a thermal capacity of 40 MW each.

The new facilities have made it possible to meet the economic and environmental targets set by the City.

A transparent, participatory and citizen-focused approach

The approach emphasized community participation in a partnership with the City : a site visit was organized, an information, supervision and innovation committee set up, and a film produced. Dalkia also became involved with neighborhood associations in a "landscape-friendly" project to integrate the facility into the surroundings.

As part of the project, the colors on the façade, decoration of the stacks and the vegetation at the facility were designed by school children in the Fives neighborhood.
