Vitoria Gasteiz is the capital of the Spanish Basque Country. Up until 1999, different local companies handled energy management and maintenance of municipal buildings. In 1999, the City decided to entrust maintenance of air conditioning, control of cold water, boiler plants, supply of hot water, mechanical ventilation, low-voltage electricity, choice of
fuel, treatment of swimming pool water and skating rink maintenance to a single service company. Dalkia won the call for tender launched by the City administration, to which it offers its experience as an international group and the whole array of techniques it uses throughout the world.
